29 Faces - Face 6 - Blue Haired Girl

Well... technically still Face 5 but she's finished now. I used oil pastels properly for the first time with her - up till then I had only used the white one. I have fallen in love! How did I go this long without using them?

Here she is getting a bit of colour to her face last night...

And with a new 'do' today...

She's not perfect by any means, but I really enjoyed drawing her  - she does make me smile. I've so loved discovering oil pastels too! 29 Faces is definitely getting me trying new things.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a peep :)

  3. Wow Carmen - this is super.

I don't think I've used oil pastels since I did my 'O' levels (at the time I didn't like using colour in my art - go figure - and pastels were the only thing my tutor could get me to use) and that's probably why...I link them with exams.

If I'm honest, I did like using them so I really must give them another go.

  7. What a seductive little lady with those gorgeous big eyes. She stands out so well against the background, and I like the Klimt reference on the left.

  11. Fantastic!! I LOVE this girl and her background! Well done.

After you raved about oil pastels on FB I ordered some cheapies from Amazon (the same ones Sarah has). They arrived yesterday and I'm going to have a play over the next few days (**excited**!!).

  13. Oil pastels are delicious aren't they. If you are ever near an art store that sells individual oil pastels try a sennelier...they are smooshy goodness in a stick. Love how this turned out and love that you all had a hand in it. :)
